Amadou Bakayoko has opened his account for Dundee United after scoring his first goal in their 2-2 draw against Kilmarnock at the Dens Parks on Saturday.

Dundee’s smart start paid off as Bakayoko tapped it in at the back post after a Joe Shaughnessy flick-on in the 16 minute. But Kilmarnock responded with a Danny Armstrong’s strike at the hour mark to draw parity.

Danny Armstrong doubled the visitors lead in the 81st minute as it looked to have given Kilmarnock all three points when he tapped home Andrew Dallas’ cross at the back post.

However, Zak Rudden’s 92nd-minute late strike ensured a point for 10-man Dundee as they clawed Kilmarnock back in a Scottish Premiership thriller at Dens Park.

Bakayoko, who’s on a season-long loan from Forest Green netted his first goal for Dundee in his seventh appearance in the Scottish Premiership this season. Dundee United is back in the top flight of Scottish football for the first time since 2021-22, currently holding the 9th position in the Scottish Premiership standings.

Think the author of this piece is getting a bit confused. Bakayoko doesn’t play for Dundee United, he plays for Dundee. They’re two different teams. Dundee were promoted to the Premiership at the end of last season. Dundee United were relegated.
