Miss Ecowas Peace Pageant was officially launched yesterday at the Miatta Conference center. Six ladies competed to represent Sierra Leone in the pageant. They read peace messages to an audience of government officials, Ecowas dignataries etc. Three local judges were tasked with selecting the winners based on the content and delivery of their speeches. An employee of Africell and a student at FBC were selected to rep mama salone.
The Ecowas Peace pageant is the brainchild of 702 Productions, an events management company based in Nigeria. The Ecowas Peace Pageant was first hosted in Rivers State, Nigeria and the 2010 events will be held in Sierra Leone on November 13th 2010. Ramatu Wurie represented Sierra Leone in 2009.
