Asake’s Hit “Wave” Makes NBA 2025 Soundtrack
Asake’s track “Wave,” from his third album “Lungu Boy,” has been featured in the NBA 2025 Season 2 soundtrack.
He is the only Afrobeats artist on the soundtrack. This continued the genre’s representation after Adekunle Gold’s ‘Party No Dey Stop,’ which features Zinoleesky, was included in the NBA 2024 soundtrack.
This soundtrack also highlights songs from American artists like Key Glock and Lil Pete.
Asake now joins the likes of Adekunle Gold and Burna Boy as one of the Nigerian pop stars featured on the soundtrack of the highly popular game, which sold over 9 million units in its 2024 edition.
Asake’s Performance in the Music Industry
Asake’s inclusion in the soundtrack further cements his status as a global superstar and one of Afrobeats’ most prolific hitmakers. Since breaking into the mainstream in 2022, he has achieved remarkable commercial success, with a series of chart-topping and record-breaking hits.
Recently, he concluded his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour with sold-out performances at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, Toyota Arena, TD Garden, and Capital One Arena. He also made history as the third Nigerian artist to headline the O2 Arena.
