The Kontri Pot Show Is Back With Auditions for New Season

Freetown, Sierra Leone–[4 September 2024]– The third season of The Kontri Pot Best of Salone Talent Competition will begin on 21st September 2024. Organized by Generation Next Entertainment SL Limited (Gen X Music) under the leadership of JayArr, the competition will highlight the finest talents across various categories, offering thrilling entertainment to the Salone audience. 

The competition covers five key categories within Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry; dance, comedy, rap, singing, and spoken word. Contestants will compete, showcasing original material based on topics, themes, or dances provided by the Kontri Pot Management. Contestants must perform cover songs by popular Sierra Leonean artists, showcasing their creativity within their respective categories.  

The competition will be intense, with contestants battling it out across 8 thrilling episodes leading up to the grand finale. The winner receives NLE 150,000 and a two-year contract with Gen X Music Record Label to produce, publish and distribute one album.

What You Need To Know About the Kontri Pot Auditions

Auditions for the competition will take place in two rounds, both of which will all be performed a cappella, with no additional sounds or instruments allowed. The first round of auditions will begin on 21st September 2024, at four major locations: Freetown (Fourah Bay College Cafeteria Campus) on 21st September 2024, Makeni City (Garden State) on 28st September 2024, Bo Town (The Palace Complex) on 29th September 2024 and Freetown (Chicken Town Jui) on 5th October, 2024.

The second round of auditions will see the finalists divided into two groups. The first group will continue their auditions on 12th October, 2024 and the second group will audition on 13th October 2024. Both sessions will take place at the Chicken Town, Lumley Beach Road, Freetown.

The Purpose Behind the Kontri Pot Competition

JayArr, the lead organizer of the competition believes the event can improve youth livelihoods and boost Sierra Leone’s entertainment industry. He is dedicated to ensuring the competition meets these goals.

The Kontri Pot Best of Salone Competition has experienced significant growth since its inception in 2022. With two successful seasons behind it, the competition’s popularity continues to rise among the Sierra Leone audience.
