Femme Collective first edition of ‘Jack and the Feminist'(photos)
On the August 2 the Femme Collective’s has successfully held it first ever ‘Jack and the Feminist’ event at the Pearl Hotel and Residence, Lumley Beach Road.
The event was geared towards bridging the gap between men and women in terms of feminism.
Feminism is a range of social movements, political movements, and ideologies that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes.
Present at the panel to discuss around these issues was Grace Kargobai, Chernor Bah, Nicky Spencer Coker, Marbey Sartie and Joseph Kaifala while quests were also given the opportunity to ask questions, make suggestions and even contradict some statements made by the panel.
In all the evening of discussion between panel and guests which was one of the rationales behind the program was met.
Femme Collective is a platform registered in January 2019, they seeks to harmonize the goals and activities of women’s organizations in Sierra Leone to reduce duplication, improve effectiveness, efficiency and promote collaboration among women to achieve a common goal. The organization provides a collective platform to promote women’s voices, rights, activities and empowerment.
