Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) bans parking in some streets in the Central Business District

After consultations with stakeholders in the road transport sector and in accordance with part XI, Section 117 of the Road Traffic Act of 2007 WHICH PROHIBITS THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN CERTAIN AREAS.

The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) together with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and The Freetown City Council (FCC) wants to inform Drivers and vehicle owners that the following streets within the Central Business District (CDB) have been declared ‘NO PARKING and NO WAITING’ streets between 6:00 am to 7:30 pm. every day with immediate effect.

Parking will only be allowed for off-loading and that should be done within Forty (40) minutes after every Two (2) hours.

The Streets are:

1. Wilberforce Street
2. Free Street
3. Malama Thomas Street
4. Short Street
5. Lumley Street
6. Back Street
7. Sibthorpe Street
8. Frederick Street
9. Regent Road
10. Upper East Street
11. Howe Street
12. Garrison Street
13. Regent Street
14. Sackville Street
15. Ecowas Street
16. Rawdon Street

Drivers and Vehicle Owners Are advised to comply in their own interest as defaulters would be penalized accordingly.
