A lawyer, an entrepreneur, and a doctor, will speak at a special Women’s Month edition of Swit Salone Dot Com’s Recipes for Success on Saturday 25 March 2017 at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown.

Recipes for Success is an event designed for business owners, professionals and young entrepreneurs to network, connect and learn from the experience of the speaker(s) who have succeeded in their respective careers.

Ms. Mackay is the current CEO and Registrar at Sierra Leone’s Corporate Affairs Commission. She drives the commission’s vision to become a leader in corporate information management. Prior to joining the commission she was Director of Legal and Licensing Affairs at the National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM). Between 2006-2009 Ms. Mackay was Legal Counsel and Regulatory Specialist for Celtel (Airtel-SL).

Ms. Mackay holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Fourah Bay College in Sierra Leone and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Company Law, Jurisprudence, and Criminal Law from Holborn College in London. After her studies in London, she came back to Sierra Leone, enrolled in the Sierra Leone Law School and qualified to be a Barrister. She also holds a post graduate degree in IT and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Ms. Dumbuya has over 15 years of experience in business, consulting, advocacy, and marketing. In addition to obtaining a Professional Diploma in ACIM Chartered Marketing, Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) from the London School of Business and Finance, and an Associates of Arts Degree (AA) in Liberal Studies from De Anza College, California, she also holds a BA in International Business Finance from San Diego State University.

She is leads several business firms including; Masada Waste Management Company SL LTD where she serves as Managing Partner, BSI SL LTD , a serviced & virtual office provider and Pinnacle Marketing Consulting as its Chief Executive Officer.

R2Dr. Forna, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist spent her childhood in Sierra Leone and left as a teenager to pursue medical training in the US. She received her undergraduate degree at Florida A&M University. She studied medicine at Duke University School of Medicine, and Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Forna then completed the Epidemic Intelligence Service Fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
For the past 9 years, Dr. Forna has served as the Chief of Women’s Services and Obstetrician & Gynecologist (OB/GYN) with Kaiser Permanente (KP), in Atlanta, GA. In this role, she has also been the Physician Leader/Team Lead at Piedmont Hospital, and Panola Office OB/GYN Healthcare Team Lead. She is also one of the Co-Founders and Executive Directors of Mama-Pikin Foundation – a non-profit foundation working to improve the health of women, children, and families in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Forna is also a writer and author, and has written a children’s book – ‘Puppy Princess Sheba’; as well as ‘From your doctor to you: What every teen girl should know about her body, sex, STDs & contraception’.
