The Green White Blue Commission’s Sierra Leone Ball turns 5

On April 27th this year Sierra Leoneans from across the US diaspora will flock to Washington DC for the GWB Commission’s 5th Green White and Blue Ball. The annual ball is the biggest event to mark Salone independence in the US. Besides hosting a huge party, the commission also recognizes the accomplishments of the best and brightest in the community. Last year I received the Arts & Entertainment Award while Carol Bangura was awarded the Humanitarian Award.

This year rising ballerina starlet Michaela DePrince will receive the A & E Award while the very able Liesel Renner of the Visao Foundation will receive the Humanitarian Award. Jankay Nabay and the Bubu Band will be the feature artists. The Commission is currently selling tickets to the Ball which will be held at the historic Howard Theater in D.C. You certainly don’t want to miss this one.
