Former beauty queen and TV presenter,  Stella Bangura is set to make a triumphant return with the third season of her beloved talk show, “On The Spot With Stella.” After a break spanning over two years, Bangura is prepared to grace our screens once again and pursue her mission of engaging with African changemakers hailing from every corner of the continent.

In a recent interview,  Bangura disclosed that the second season of her show concluded in late 2021, marking the commencement of her screen absence. Nonetheless, she was quick to clarify that during this period, substantial activity was transpiring behind the scenes and screens. Her sabbatical was a purposeful one, allowing her to concentrate on her talk show and business development endeavors, following her resignation from her previous organization.

“After this much-needed rest, I embarked on pursuing a master’s program and also resumed production for the new season of my talk show. I also became a frequent guest on the BBC program ‘Business Matters,’ where I provide a Sierra Leonean perspective on global issues. These past two years have been both incredibly busy and fascinating for me,” said Bangura.

However, in the forthcoming season, “On The Spot With Stella” will be broadcast in Nigeria on two channels: TEN URBAN TV and NIGEZIE XTREME on Channel 135 and Channel 427 on Startimes respectively.

This expansion means that viewers in Sierra Leone who possess the Startimes app can already begin enjoying the show prior to its official launch in Sierra Leone. Bangura pledged to unveil all the details regarding the show’s Sierra Leonean launch in due course.

As she reflects on her time off-screen, describing it as an incredible journey. During this time, she devoted substantial time to self-improvement and the development of her business. Bangura channeled her energy into producing remarkable content that stands out, showcasing Sierra Leone’s potential to meet globally appealing content. Her show has gained international acclaim, expanding its influence from Africa to the Middle East and Europe.

With Bangura’s return, she expresses excitement about being in a different space, aiming to highlight the amazing work happening in Sierra Leone beyond politics. She believes that, as a journalist, constantly asking critical questions on accountability, governance, economy, and corruption can become repetitive. Instead, she wants to actively contribute to creating the Sierra Leone she envisioned. Bangura is eager to showcase the positive side of her country and the inspiring individuals making a difference.

“Having been a critical voice on TV as a journalist who consistently asked critical questions on accountability, governance, economy, and corruption, I started to feel like a broken record. We all know the problems and governments in and out promise yet fail to address these fundamental issues, so having to keep asking the same questions on these issues over and over again gets quite redundant,” she confided.

“So, I decided that rather than just questioning, I can actively contribute to creating the Sierra Leone I want to see in my own little way. I wanted to be actively part of rebranding Sierra Leone and Africa, highlighting the many amazing people and work being done and inspiring people to do greater things through the content I push out.”

Fans can look forward to the upcoming third season of “On The Spot With Stella,” where Stella Bangura continues to spotlight African changemakers and their stories of impact and success. Her return promises fresh perspectives and captivating content for audiences across Africa and beyond. To follow her journey, subscribe to her YouTube channel.
