Drizilik drops 16 bars for Salone on the BET HipHop Awards 2023 Cypher
Representing the motherland, multiple-award-winning hip-hop, and afrobeats artist, Drizilik takes the stage alongside Africa’s most talented rappers for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher.
In the video, Drizilik makes his entrance as the third performer, delivering powerful verses that beautifully captures the Sierra Leonean culture and his deep pride for his roots.
Lines like “Diamond in the flesh, Salone in your face” and “Dis na Krio, no to pidgin nor mistake am” serve as unmistakable representations of Sierra Leone, with a passionate desire for the world to recognize us through our native “Krio” language.
The rapper was up against the likes of Psycho YP, Veezo View, ASKIA, PHIDO, Bryan The Mensah, and Ko-Jo Cue who infused their music with that distinct African flavor as they spit fire through the microphone.
This year’s BET HipHop Awards celebrates the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, honoring some of the best and brightest rappers, singers, and other black artists from around the globe.Drizilik has been proudly representing Sierra Leone across the globe in different platforms. Since 2020 he has been one of the performers of the MTV Africa annual African Day Concert and has proven to be exceptional.
