Remember Jimmy Thoronka? He was the sprinter who went for the Commonwealth Games last year and then refused to return because he said his family had been lost to ebola and he was afraid that if he came back he would get it too.
It seems Thoronka’s luck might change very soon. The Guardian reports that the University of East London has admitted him to study there. However whether he can stay in the UK depends on the Home Office.
Thoronka overstayed on his visa when he refused to go back to Sierra Leone after the Commonwealth Games.
