On April 27th, 2013 Sierra Leonean rap artist L A J launched his latest release, the ‘Red Album’ at the national stadium. There were many who believed the concert would be banned after another artist’s concert was cancelled by the Sierra Leone Police.

Regardless of these concerns fans of the Red Flag Movement flooded the national stadium to see L A J and American hip hop artist Cassidy. Other artists and notables who took to the stage included DJ Boxx, Jimmy B, Mohamed Kallon, Fred Kay, Nasser Ayoub, Star Zero, 441, Bubba, Chubby Asa, K-Man, Raga Spice, Willie Jay, Empress P, plus other upcoming musicians.

Fred Kay presented the new Hummel Sierra Leone national football team jersey to LA. Souferior Greatness slammed on stage and brought the crowd to their feet as he sang his biggest hit to date, ‘Pull Na Do’. Camouflage walked on stage dressed in Blue and White and performed.

Then Cassidy from America took over the performance and did two of his songs “I’m a hustler” and “Hotel”. Finally L A took to the stage dressed in Sierra Leone’s national football jersey with Mohamed Kallon’s name on his back. After performing two of his songs, he was then given the captain band which he said makes him the captain of Sierra Leone’s music. The fans cheered “Capay!” “Capay!”, (which means captain in Krio). L A performed alongside K-Man and was later joined by Chubby Asa.

The “Rapper Dem god” as he calls himself officialy introduce Souferior and Camouflage as the newest members of the RFM family crowning them with shining golden chains. The three performed together for the rest of the concert and ended the performance with Cassidy as they performed the song “Shock” which LAJ featured Cassidy. This was followed by an explosion of fire works on stage. Boss L A who says he is now World Boss urged his fans to stay out of trouble and help to maintin peace in Sierra Leone. He also called on his true fans to support his long time hip hop rival Kao Denero’s “Back 2 my root” album launching on May 4th at the national stadium. “If you are my true fans, please come out in your numbers and support my brother Kao Denero in his concert. Please stay out of trouble and help the police and the government of Sierra Leone in their quest to maintain peace” He added.
