East End Lions star player Prince Barrie sent a heartfelt message of support, love, and encouragement to his former teammate, Nathaniel Tongovoula aka Anderson.
Tongovoula, once the brightest star and fans’ favorite player in Sierra Leone football, had talent on the field that was undeniable. Among many other accloads, In 2019, he was recognized as one of the top five best midfielders of the season while playing for Bo Rangers FC. His skill and dedication captured the hearts of fans across the nation.
However, in the past year, Tongovoula’s career took an unexpected turn. Multiple reports emerged stating that the 27 years old is faced with dark moments and alleged substance abuse, which have significantly affected his physical and mental well-being.
Earlier this month Tongovoula’s appearance at the Attouga mini stadium in Freetown, in a deteriorated state, sparked speculations on social media. Concerned fans speculated that his loss of form and physique could be attributed to his alleged drug abuse.
Following these speculations and the pain of seeing a friend and former teammate in such a state, Prince Barrie who is currently in the U.S. stepped in with a message that embodied unwavering support and belief.
