Amidu Karim, a retired Sierra Leonean striker, has been named as the interim head coach of the Leone Stars, by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA).
Before this appointment, Karim served as the assistant coach under John Keister, whose contract ended in August after a tenure of more than three years with the team.
Previously, Karim had been the head coach of the Sierra Leone U-23 squad for an extended period. His back room staff included Francis Koroma as Assistant Coach 1, Alhaji Foray as Assistant Coach 2, and Ibrahim Swarray as the Team Manager.

At the age of 48, Karim boasts a notable playing career, having been part of Sierra Leone’s squad in the 1994 and 1996 African Cup of Nations.
However, Karim’s appointment has ignited controversy among various Sierra Leoneans on numerous social media platforms.
