World Cup 2014 Africa qualifiers: Sierra Leone beats Cape Verde 2-1
After two losses last month to Jordan and Iraq, Sierra Leone’s National Team bounces back with a 2-1 win over Cape Verde. Leone Stars starting line up included Christian Caulker (GK), Umaru Bangura, Sheriff Suma, Ibrahim Kargbo (Capt), Mohamed Kamara, Kei Kamara, Samuel Barlay, Ibrahim Teteh Bangura, Alhassan Kamara, Mohamed Bangura with Substitutes Unisa Bangura (GK), Mohamed Fornah, Khalifa Jabbie, Julius Conteh, Mohamed Kallon, Alfree Conteh, Gibrilla Fofanah. Missing from today’s match were international players Gibrilla Wobay and Rodney Strasser. Sierra Leone’s Medo Kamara scored the first goal in the 10th minute, and FC Baku striker Sheriff Suma scored a 2nd goal in the 26th minute. Former Leone Stars captain Mohamed Kallon came on as a substitute at the 73rd minute. Z. Luis registered the only goal for Cape Verde in the 90th minute. This was Sierra Leone’s first home game for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
