Premier news reports that city council as today pad locked and sealed the gates of the national stadium because the stadium’s management owes 250million Leones in unpaid city rate tax going back to 1980. A rep from city council explained that a letter was sent to the stadium’s management informing them that “if they failed to settle their bills, the council will have no other alternative but to close down the facility”. Mr. Koroma a member of the management refutes the council’s claims that warrants and warnings. The closing of the stadium disrupted a scheduled football match between FC Johansen and a visiting Gambian side. The stadium has agreed to pay le.50m to have the gates opened with the balance to be paid on a monthly basis.
