For four years, the Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference (SLDIC) has been building one powerful bridge; which is connecting Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora to real opportunities for investment, partnership, and national development back home.

Now, for its fourth annual edition, that mission reaches a new level.

Make Sierra Leone Famous LLC and the Government of Sierra Leone, through the National Investment Board (NIB), have officially partnered to host the fourth annual Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference 2026 in London on June 19 – 20, 2026 at the InterContinental London Park Lane.

Under the theme “From Capital to Catalyst: Mobilizing Diaspora Finance to Power Sierra Leone’s Industries,” this year’s conference is designed to move beyond conversations about investment and create clear, practical pathways for diaspora Sierra Leoneans ready to invest back home.

The Honorable Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohammed Juldeh Jalloh, will deliver the keynote address, reinforcing the government’s commitment to diaspora-led investment and private sector growth.

“This partnership marks a decisive shift in how the Government of Sierra Leone engages its diaspora—not merely as remittance contributors, but as strategic investors and partners,” said the Dr. Edward Hinga Sandy, Executive Director of the National Investment Board.

Speaking on the partnership, Founder and Chair of SLDIC, Vickie Remoe, said: “We are deeply grateful for this collaboration, which creates clear, actionable pathways to channel the financial and intellectual capital of our global citizens directly into national development”

Four Years of Building Diaspora Investment Pathways

Since launching in 2023, SLDIC has grown into one of the most important platforms connecting Sierra Leone’s global citizens to meaningful opportunities at home.

What began as a bold idea to move diaspora engagement beyond remittances and into structured investment, has evolved into an annual conference attracting entrepreneurs, investors, government leaders, private sector players, and development partners across the world.

From London to the United States and Sierra Leone, SLDIC has created spaces where real partnerships are formed, businesses gain visibility, and diaspora voices help shape national development conversations.

Past attendees have left with more than conference notes. They have left with deals, built investment relationships, discovered vetted opportunities, and found practical routes to contribute to Sierra Leone’s growth story.

This is what makes SLDIC different: it is not just about talking about opportunities, but about creating access to them.

What to Expect at SLDIC 2026

This year’s London conference serves as the strategic launchpad for the global SLDIC 2026 series, with a stronger focus on actionable investment and direct engagement.

The two-day London agenda includes:

  • Day 1: Government Engagement and Policy Dialogue. A showcase convened by the NIB featuring plenary sessions with key Ministries and updates on policy reforms to improve Sierra Leone’s investment climate.
  • Day 2: Investment Mobilisation and Private Sector Engagement. Focused on structuring diaspora capital through panel discussions, B2B networking, and “The King Jimmy Landing” deal room for vetted, market-ready projects.

The conference will also highlight the Government of Sierra Leone’s efforts to streamline business registration and develop innovative financial instruments, such as diaspora bond frameworks. Expected participants include diaspora entrepreneurs, institutional investors, and representatives from development partners like the World Bank and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Following London, the SLDIC 2026 journey will continue in Silver Spring, Maryland on August 21, before conclusion in Freetown, Sierra Leone on December 29, ensuring diaspora engagement continues across three continents.
