The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has taken a major step in promoting clean and fair football after SLFA President Babadi Kamara on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, signed the organization’s first-ever Anti-Doping Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Olympic Committee – Sierra Leone (NOC). The signing ceremony was held at the NOC Office on Walpole Street in Freetown.

The new agreement creates an official partnership to protect athletes, encourage fair play, and strengthen integrity within Sierra Leone football. It also marks the start of a stronger national effort to fight drug use in sports.

Speaking at the event, President Babadi Kamara said the MOU is designed to protect players’ health and guide young footballers away from drug abuse. He said the SLFA is committed to making football safer and more professional.

“If we are not able to completely stop drug abuse, we will at least reduce it to the barest minimum,” he said, describing the agreement as an important first step in safeguarding the country’s growing talent base.
