Upgraded Timeline
The upgrade will occur between August 1st to October 31st, 2024 inFreetown, Bo, Kenema, Kono, Makeni, Magburuka, PortLoko, Lunsar and Lungi. During this period, all EDSA customers are required to upgrade their prepaid meters to ensure continued access to electricity services.
How to Upgrade Your Meter
The upgrade process is straightforward and can be done from the comfort of your home. There is no need to visit an EDSA office or interact with personnel directly. Here is how you can complete the upgrade:
Purchase Meter Top-Up/credit:Simply buy a meter top-up using Orange Money, Afrimoney, Qmoney, Vendtech, Mercy Holdings, Dycar and Lynx. When you make the purchase, you will receive a unique 60-digit code that will facilitate the upgrade.
You must enter the code correctly. The 60-digit code is divided into three parts, each containing 20 digits. It is crucial to enter these digits correctly into your meter to complete the upgrade successfully.
Follow these steps:
Enter the first 20 digits into your meter.
Wait for 15 seconds.
Enter the next 20 digits.
Wait for another 15 seconds.
Finally, enter the last 20 digits.
Failure to enter the code correctly, especially adhering to the 15 seconds interval between each part, will prevent you from upgrading.

- Free Of Charge. The upgrade process itself is entirely free. You only need to purchase your regular top-up to receive the upgrade code.
