
Middlesbrough have signed Sierra Leonean defender Alex Bangura from Dutch Eerste Divisie side SC Cambuur. The 24-year-old left back signed a four year deal with the EFL Championship side, becoming the club’s 12th signing of the summer.

Bangura is no stranger to high-level competition, at SC Cambuur where made over 100 appearances. With experience in the Dutch top division, he brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the team. This experience will undoubtedly prove invaluable as he adapts to the English game, making him a standout prospect for Middlesbrough.
He started his career in the youth set-up at Feyenoord before joining Cambuur, he is a left-sided player, who can play at the back and on the wings.
Bangura has had five caps for Sierra Leone national team and his inclusion on the international stage has displayed both his talent and his commitment to the game.
Middlebrough’s head coach and former Manchester United player Michael Carrick, expressed his delight at welcoming Bangura to the club. Carrick shared, “He’s a really exciting signing, he’s a left back and he’s captained his team. He’s a good character with a great Personality and he won’t have any problem fitting into the group,” said Carrick.
