East End Lions Crowned 2025 Leone Rock Premier League Champions

East End Lions Football Club have been officially crowned champions of the 2025 Leone Rock Premier League after finishing the season on top with 69 points.

The trophy and medals were handed over to the “Killers” on Monday August 19th, 2025, at the Approved School Field in Freetown by the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara. The crowning followed their 1-1 draw with Stars Sports Academy, a match that was more of a celebration than a contest since Lions had already secured the title before kick-off.

Speaking during the ceremony, SLFA President Kamara congratulated East End Lions for their victory and praised all teams that competed in the league. He thanked lead sponsor Leone Rock Metal Group and other partners for their investment in Sierra Leonean football.

Kamara also highlighted one of this season’s biggest achievements which is the partnership with FIFA+, which broadcasted all Premier League games live across the world. “FIFA+ is here to stay and will only get better,” he assured, noting the global exposure Sierra Leonean football is now enjoying.

The SLFA awarded East End Lions a cash prize of Le 500,000 a first in the league’s history. Kamara said this was part of his commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely rewards.

Top officials present at the event included the National Sport Authority (NSA) Executive Director Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, Ministry of Sports Director Haroun Korji, Premier League Board Chairman Justice Mark Ngegba , SLFA Vice President 1 Ali Badara Tarawallie, and other SLFA executives.

With this triumph, East End Lions will represent Sierra Leone in the CAF Champions League later this year, while runners-up Bhantal FC will fly the flag in the CAF Confederation Cup.
