Launch of Chapter One Marks a New Era in Luxury Entertainment in Freetown

Sierra Leone’s capital has officially welcomed a bold new addition to its entertainment scene with the grand opening of Chapter One, a premium nightlife and lifestyle hub founded by renowned entrepreneur Fassallay Tarawally.
The three-day launch, held from June 27th to 29th, was officially inaugurated by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, and brought together government officials, international celebrities, tourism stakeholders, and members of the public, who gathered to witness what many described as a shining example of local entrepreneurship and innovation.
Located along the Lumley Beach Road, Chapter One SL is set to redefine nightlife in Sierra Leone, offering a luxurious, world-class experience that blends entertainment, culture, and business.
A Three-Day Celebration of Culture, Class, and Creativity
The grand opening unfolded over three unforgettable days:
Day One featured an upscale Brunch Party, where guests were treated to good food, vibrant music, and elegant socializing in a relaxed setting. Day two unveiled the highly anticipated club opening, showcasing Chapter One’s stunning interior, cutting-edge lighting, and top-tier sound systems while day three concluded with an exclusive “All White Party,” attracting fashion-forward elites and nightlife enthusiasts to close the celebration in style.
The event reached a high point when President Bio officially unveiled the facility, stating:
“I’m delighted to unveil this vibrant facility, a fulfillment of my vision to see the private sector thrive. This is proof that local investors are heeding my call to invest in Sierra Leone.”
He added, “Let us not only celebrate this structure today, but also the brighter future we are building together for Sierra Leone.”
The guest list featured Nigerian billionaire Obi Cubana in a special appearance, along with top entertainers from Nigeria such as Patoranking, Poco Lee, Wande Coal, Teni, DJ Neptune, and Ms DSF. Sierra Leone’s finest—including Boss LAJ, Star Zee, Natasha Beckley, and DJ Mendy—also performed, blending local energy with continental flair.
In addition to performances, the launch featured art exhibitions, DJ sets, and cultural showcases, creating a space that celebrated Sierra Leone’s potential as both a creative hub and tourism hotspot.

Economic Impact and Youth Empowerment
Speaking during the vote of thanks, Chapter One CEO Fassallay Tarawally expressed heartfelt appreciation to the President and reiterated the deeper purpose behind his investment.
“Today is not just an unveiling of a magnificent structure—it is the birth of a dream. Mr. President, you turned my dream into a destination, and I am more inspired than ever to invest in my country,” he said.
Tarawally, who also founded the original Chapter One club in Bo, envisions the Freetown expansion as a platform for youth empowerment, job creation, and skills development.
Surrounding businesses—including hotels, fashion vendors, caterers, and transport providers—are also expected to benefit from the increased nightlife activity, guest traffic, and overall vibrancy the club brings to the area.

A Symbol of Regional Confidence and Integration
The involvement of top Nigerian celebrities and business moguls underlines Sierra Leone’s emerging role in West Africa’s cultural economy. With Nigeria recognized as Africa’s entertainment giant, their participation in Chapter One’s launch is viewed as a vote of confidence in Sierra Leone’s creative potential and investment climate.
The collaboration showcases the power of regional unity through entertainment, while inspiring young Sierra Leoneans to aim higher in business, arts, and innovation.
As the lights dim on the launch weekend and the doors officially open to the public, Chapter One SL stands as a bold symbol of what Sierra Leone can achieve through vision, entrepreneurship, and unity.
It’s not just the opening of a club. It’s the opening of opportunities, the celebration of dreams, and the beginning of a new chapter for Freetown, for entertainment, and for the future of Sierra Leone.
