Sierra Leone has been ranked as the fourth least happy country in the world, according to the recently published Gallup World Happiness Report 2024.
Ranked at 140 out of 143 countries with a Happiness Score of 3.245, the West African nation is positioned ahead of only Lesotho, Lebanon, and Afghanistan. The Happiness Report evaluates global happiness levels and delves into how the science of happiness elucidates disparities in happiness at both individual and national levels.
In 2023, Sierra Leone was the third least happy country globally, standing at 135 out of 137 countries, ahead only of Lebanon and Afghanistan. Finland has been named as the happiest country in the world, followed by Denmark, Iceland and Sweden respectively.
