Sierra Leone has confirmed a case of poliovirus type 3 in Kambia District, a town neighbouring Guinea, according to a press release by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) and the National Public Health Agency (NPHA).

Since 2010, this marks Sierra Leone’s first confirmed polio case. The MoHS and NHPA say ongoing initiatives including cross-border surveillance, public polio education, reinforcement of national surveillance systems, and the implementation of a comprehensive response plan are underway.

A variant of the poliovirus, type 2, has also been detected in sewage near Mabella Sawmill Bridge in the Western Area Urban of Sierra Leone. This viral strain is presently prevalent in other African nations, including neighbouring countries such as Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, and Liberia.

However, members of the public are strongly encouraged to ensure that all children under the age of five receive the recommended vaccinations.

Google is paying 90 to 100$ per hour! Work for few hours and have longer with friends & family. On tuesday I got a great new Land Rover Range Rover from having earned $10,000 this last four weeks. Its the most-financialy rewarding I’ve had. It sounds unbelievable but you wont forgive yourself If you don’t :-
