Sierra Leonean winger, Augustus Kargbo has signed a three-year contract with Italy’s Serie C side, Cesena FC. Formerly with FC Crotone, Kargbo now dons Cesena’s iconic Number 10 jersey.
Kargbo’s transition from his previous club to Cesena FC marks a pivotal juncture in his journey. His exceptional performance and growth at his former club have gained him attention, propelling him into a coveted position within Cesena’s roster.
His professional career started with Serie D’s Campobasso. In the summer of 2018, he moved to Crotone in Serie B. In September 2020, Kargbo earned his inaugural call-up to Sierra Leone’s men’s national team, later joining the squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Esteemed as one of the premier young talents in Sierra Leone’s national team, the 24-year-old winger recently made his mark, scoring despite the nation’s 3-2 loss to Nigeria in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
