SLDIC USA 2026 Postponed to 2027 — Attention Now Turns to Sierra Leone Diaspora Week, December 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Montgomery County, Maryland — July 2026
The Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference (SLDIC) today announces that the United States edition of the conference – previously planned for August 2026 in Silver Spring, Maryland – has been postponed to June 11 2027. Further details on the rescheduled US edition will be shared in the coming months.
In place of the US conference, the SLDIC team is now directing its full energy and focus toward what promises to be the most significant gathering in the conference’s four-year history: Sierra Leone Diaspora Week — December 2026, a landmark week-long event taking place in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
A Message from Vickie Remoe, Founder and Chair, SLDIC:
“After the extraordinary success of SLDIC London 2026, which sold out the InterContinental Hotel Park Lane with over 400 delegates, we made the decision to redirect our focus and our resources toward bringing the diaspora home. Sierra Leone Diaspora Week in December is our most ambitious undertaking yet, and it deserves our full attention. The US edition will be back in 2027, stronger and better than ever. But right now, our eyes are on Freetown.”
