Mercury International has on Monday, February 2nd 2026, presented prizes including a 55-inch smart Google TV, a motorbike, smartphones and 20,000 milliampere-hour power banks to winners of its Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 promotional raffle, which started on December 1 2025.

The online and offline betting giant held the presentation of prizes to its winners at its Walpole Street branch in the early afternoon on Monday. 

According to Sahr Morris Jr., Deputy Public Relations Manager of Mercury International, the draw was conducted in London by Mercury International’s service providers in what he described as “transparent and fair”

Octavius Jackson, Deputy Manager of Mercury International Online, buttressed that Mercury International service providers witnessed the exercise to ensure credibility.

The star prize, a Lifan motorbike, was won by Joseph Gando, a resident of Kenema, who placed seven tickets. 

Gando, a consistent Mercury International winner, said he had previously won several cash prizes through Mercury International, including over Le400,000 and Le100,000.

“I have won a lot more. I have built a house through betting on Mercury International,” he said, while encouraging others to continue participating in the platform’s promotions.

James Collins emerged winner of a 55-inch smart Google TV after placing three qualifying tickets. 

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Collins thanked Mercury International for the prize and encouraged customers to continue using the platform.

“With Mercury online betting, you can play anywhere at any time (even in your bathroom). I want to encourage everyone to continue playing because it is rewarding,” he said.

The star prize, a Lifan motorbike, was won by Joseph Gando, a resident of Kenema, who placed seven tickets. 

Other winners included Abu Bakarr Boray, who won a 20,000 mAh power bank, and Alpha Bangura, who received a Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone.

About the AFCON 2025 Promotion

The AFCON 2025 Raffle was launched by Mercury International to celebrate the continental football tournament held from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with results announced on January 19, 2026.

To qualify, customers were required to place at least 10 bets containing at least one AFCON match, with a minimum stake of Le5 per bet. 

Every 10 qualifying bets earned players one raffle ticket.

Ongoing Customer Rewards

Mercury International said the promotion is part of its broader efforts to reward customer loyalty through seasonal campaigns that typically feature prizes such as motorbikes, tricycles, smartphones, free bets and other high-value items.
