In what has been described as a historic moment for Mercury International, a local baker, Umaru Jalloh, has won a record-breaking NLe 669,450 in the company’s 5/90 lottery game. This marks the highest amount ever won in the history of Mercury International, which has been operating in Sierra Leone for over 15 years.

According to officials from Mercury, Jalloh placed a total stake of NLe 1,150 on 28 tickets, playing multiple games including Nap 3, Super & Daily, P1, and Turbo 2. The lucky numbers that changed his life were 19, 69, and 26, which appeared across several draws, earning him winnings in all the games he played.

Explaining how the games work, the officials noted that Nap 3 allows players to choose three numbers, and if those numbers appear at the top of the draw results, the player receives double the expected payout. The P1 game, on the other hand, involves selecting just one number out of 90, and if that number is drawn, it also comes with a significant reward.

Luck was truly on Jalloh’s side, as all the numbers he selected appeared at the top of the draw, doubling his total winnings and setting a new national record. The previous highest win recorded by Mercury International stood at NLe 380,000.

Speaking to reporters, Jalloh, who has been playing Mercury games for over 15 years, expressed shock and joy over his victory.

“I did not see this winning coming my way,” he said. “I have been losing for a long time, and finally, I got the chance to make up for those times. This is a life-changing opportunity for me, my family, and my business.”

Jalloh, who works as a baker, said he plans to use part of his winnings to expand his bakery and improve his family’s living conditions.

The Manager of the Lottery Department, Noel Kitami Horton, congratulated Mr. Jalloh and described his win as a “smart and strategic” one.

“The way he played the game shows that he’s smart,” Horton said. “He spread his numbers across different games and came out victorious. This is a record-breaking moment for us, and it proves that Mercury International remains one of the most trusted betting platforms in Sierra Leone and West Africa.”

Horton also emphasized that Mercury International continues to operate with full transparency and ensures prompt payment to all winners.

“We don’t delay customers’ payments because we believe in honesty and fairness,” he added.

With this new milestone, Mercury International continues to cement its reputation as the leading lottery and betting company in Sierra Leone, giving thousands of Sierra Leoneans a chance to turn their dreams into reality. Jalloh’s remarkable achievement is yet another testament to the life-changing opportunities the platform provides.
