Mercury International, Sierra Leone’s leading sports betting company, on June 27th, 2025, hosted the grand award ceremony of the Mercurybet Fantasy Premier League (FPL) trophy for the 2024/2025 English Premier League season.

Over 5,000 Sierra Leoneans signed up as fantasy football managers, but only the top 10 finalists emerged victorious—walking away with cash prizes totaling NLE405,000.

The ultimate winner, Malik Jalloh, claimed the grand prize of NLE100,000, solidifying his place as the best fantasy manager of the season.

The ceremony took place at the prestigious Radio Mercury premises in Freetown, marking the end of a thrilling season-long competition that brought together football fans and fantasy league managers from across the country.

A Season of Strategy, Skill, and Big Wins

The FPL commenced on August 16th, 2024, and concluding on May 25th, 2025, the Mercurybet FPL captivated over 5,000 Sierra Leonean football lovers who competed for monthly rewards, and a grand prize that would make any fantasy manager proud.

This year, the stakes were higher and the rewards bigger. Ten top-performing managers were awarded cash prizes totaling NLE360,000, with the grand winner taking home a whopping NLE100,000. Of the ten winners, three were females, a commendable step toward inclusivity in fantasy sports. The prizes ranged from NLE100,000 for the first place to NLE12,000 for the tenth, reflecting Mercurybet’s commitment to rewarding excellence across all tiers.

In addition to the main awards, Mercurybet ran an in-play monthly reward system, awarding NLE3,000 to the Manager of the Month and NLE1,500 to the Deputy Manager of the Month, throughout the season—further pushing total disbursements to an impressive NLE405,000.
