Sierra Leonean international and Major League Soccer (MLS) legend Kei Kamara has officially signed with FC Cincinnati, the club confirmed. The 40-year-old forward joins the reigning Supporters’ Shield holders on a deal that runs through the 2025 season, with an option to extend until 2026.
Kamara joined Cincinnati as a free agent following his 2024 campaign with Los Angeles FC (LAFC), bringing with him a wealth of experience and a remarkable goalscoring legacy. His move to Cincinnati marks a milestone, making it the 12th different MLS club he will represent- the most in league history.
A Legacy Still in Motion
With 147 goals in 445 MLS appearances, Kamara stands as the second all-time leading goal scorer in the league, a testament to his consistency and impact over an 18-year career. His physical presence, aerial ability, and goal-poaching instincts have made him one of the most respected strikers in American soccer.
Kamara, who has also featured for the Sierra Leone national team, began his MLS journey in 2006. Over the years, he has played pivotal roles at clubs like Columbus Crew, Sporting Kansas City, and LA Galaxy.
His career has also included international stints in England and Finland, making him one of the most travelled and experienced Sierra Leonean forwards in global football.
As FC Cincinnati aims to build on their recent success, Kamara’s arrival adds depth to their attacking line and injects a level of leadership that could be crucial in high-stakes moments.
Kamara’s journey continues — and with Cincinnati, the veteran striker is not just adding to his personal legacy but hoping to help bring silverware to a city hungry for more MLS glory.
