Mayor of Freetown on the run for Corruption
SEM is reporting that the Anti Corruption Commission has charged the Mayor of Freetown Herbert George Williams with 42 counts of corruption. However, in the same article they say that Josie Koroma ACC boss has not confirmed the charges. They say that the Mayor has escaped to the Gambia and that the ACC is waiting for him to return so they can arrest him.

The charges could possibly be related to several different issues ranging from the Morgan Heritage Concert from last year and the Victoria Park debacle. Herbert George Williams is a member of the ruling APC Party and was elected as Mayor of Freetown in July 2008. He succeeded Winstanley Bankole Johnson also of the APC.
Do you believe that His Lordship is on the run?
