Kao Denero, the Ambassador of Entertainment and Investment in Sierra Leone, has passionately addressed the financial challenges affecting the country’s entertainment sector.

In his statement via Facebook, the hip-hop legend who has been in music for decades strongly emphasizes the need for the entertainment industry to demonstrate its value and financial viability. He said This strategic move will be essential to draw swift investments from the government and the private business sphere.

“Until our industry shows its value and financial leverage, it will be very difficult for rapid investment from the government and the private sector. Entertainers have to show growth, and financial importance to entice interest from outside. As of now, our industry is more like a liability rather than a profit-driven entity. Wake up,” said Kao Denero.

Sierra Leone’s entertainment sector has remained in the wings, biding its time, yearning to step into the spotlight. Yet, recurrent financial obstacles have consistently hindered the progress of emerging entertainers.

However, with the establishment of the Office of the Ambassador of Entertainment and Investment, a beacon of hope has arisen. The spotlight has shifted toward the vast potential residing within the gifted artists of Sierra Leone. After enduring a prolonged period of global underrepresentation, the moment has arrived to cultivate the talents, demonstrate intrinsic value, and beckon investments that will breathe vitality into the industry.
