GLOBAL MINIMUM ANNOUNCES 2013 INNOVATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Recipients will receive one-year stipend, research opportunities, and personal initiative support

The President and Board of Directors of Global Minimum (GMin) is pleased to announce a call for applications for its 2013 Innovate Fellowship Program.

GMin Innovate Fellowships will be awarded to three passionate young Sierra Leoneans. The Fellows will promote the vision of Global Minimum; which is to empower locals who wish to create and implement their own solutions to local problems. Each Fellow will be given competitive stipends for their Fellowship year along with the opportunities to work with students and researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University; collaborate with national and international organizations; and develop an innovative project of his or her own that promotes the ethos of innovation within Sierra Leone.

Fellows will be expected to spend at least 40 hours per week on their work. The Fellows will work through the 2013 Innovate Salone program as well as through their own individual community service project(s). The Fellows will reside in Sierra Leone for the duration of the Fellowship which will be from January 2013 through December 2013.

Eligible applicants should be either (a) Sierra Leonean or (b) living in Sierra Leone for at least the past two years. He or she should hold a Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree, or an advanced educational certificate from a credible academic institution within the last four years; be entrepreneurial, motivated and self-directed; computer literate with regular internet access; a good writer, speaker, and diligent worker. The deadline for applications is December 24, 2012.

    Am much more passionate about this initiative innovatesalone because as a sierra leoneane it gives me the previledge to contribute meaningfully towards the development of my country particularly when beautifull initiatives are coming from young and able sierra leoneans like kelvin. i have being looking forward towards such opportunities to show case my passion in working with young people like kelvin to empower local and rural communities in sierra leone. I want to emplore all sierra leoneans to embrace this initiative and make this country a market were young people can met and share innovations together we will develop a make better and prosperous sierra leone. May our shared innovations help in improving the lives of local communities through innovatesalone. God bless Sierra leone, young people, the founding members of innovatesalone, donors, partners and all those who are working tirelessly to capacitate young sierra leone.
