Ghana: Maksi Fashion ‘afropolitan’ shop at the African Regent in Accra (photos)
The boutique at the African Regent Hotel in Accra will be stocking designs from Maksi for another week. The Pop Up shop opened with a cocktail last week Thursday and the whole lobby turned into a hangout for the fashion conscious. I think I spotted Van Vicker walk in and I certainly saw Nigeria’s Nneka turn up later in the night though my camera had been layed to rest by then.
Maksi is the fashion child of two sisters Abynnah and Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah. They started back in 2009 and cater to a unisex clientele although its mostly for the ladies. The women’s designs is what I imagine would emerge if Ann Taylor had African inspirations. The dresses are for that professional woman who doesn’t want to miss a style beat as she transitions from work to happy hour. Find out more about them here.
