Sierra Leone: Entertainment godfather Jimmy B launches eponymous radio show

Today was the first edition of what film and music star Jimmy Bangura hopes to be the next chapter in his long time domination of Sierra Leone entertainment.

The Jimmy B Show is on Air Radio FM 105.3 every Sunday from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Jimmy B says that his goal is  to promote, brand and re-brand the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone by showcasing the best personalities in music, film, fashion and more.

The Jimmy B Show will only play Sierra Leone music, a decision that many in the industry will welcome. In the past musicians like Emmerson Bockarie  and others criticized radio DJs for leaving local sounds for foreign acts or worse asking that Sierra Leonean musicians pay them if they want their music played on radio. Thankfully, there will be none of that on the Jimmy B Show, just good ‘ole Salone music.
