Exact Job Location: Freetown Sierra Leone with visits to the programmes in Tonkolili district (at least 30% of the time)
Reports To: Programme Quality and Monitoring Coordinator
Responsible For: Documentation and Learning Officer
Liaises With: Assistant Country Director Programmes (ACDP), Desk Officer in HQ, Coordinators, Programme Managers, Finance, and Officers, CD, Assistant Country Director Systems (ACDS) and HR staff, Advocacy, Communications and Fundraising staff in HQ
Job Purpose:
The main role of the Programme Quality and Monitoring Unit is to provide technical support in areas of programme quality in accordance with the standards set in Concern’s strategic plan, technical guidelines and Concern’s commitment to international standards, which will contribute to addressing extreme poverty in line with Concern’s strategy in Sierra Leone. The main components of the unit cover: programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, including enhancing organisational learning; accountability, partnership, and mainstreaming issues in relation to inequality and risk and vulnerability. The unit also facilitates advocacy at micro, meso and macro level based on the evidences collected from our target beneficiaries.
As a member of the Programme Quality and Monitoring Unit, the purpose of the Senior Programme Support Officer role is to support the country programme to systematically and rigorously document learnings and employ them to improve programme interventions. The Senior Programme Support Officer also contributes to a centralised donor reporting calendar as well as the production of quality reports and proposals in line with Concern and donor requirements.

I hope Sierra Leoneans will be given the opportunity to be recruited more in these Companies more, because they are also very much learned and capable, so I see little wonder why we are always left for menial jobs whilst the expats serve as managers by default…
