Back in March Standard Times reported that West Africa Holdings had signed a management contract with Hilton Hotels for the chain to take over the hotel. The article claimed that 70% of the rehabilitation of the hotel was already complete and with NASSIT contribution the Mammy Yoko Hilton would be operational in no time. Earlier this week VisitSierra Leone announced that IDEA Group, the Sierra Leonean owned Britain based company behind the Mape Project has won the concession to renovate Cape Sierra Hotel and bring the Hilton chain to Sierra Leone. According to the press release, NASSIT had for sometime been in search of proper management for the hotel and that the IDEA Group bid brought in with the help of the IFC “represent best value to NASSIT and also to Sierra Leone.”
