Four Sierra Leonean Peace Keepers killed in Darfur, Sudan
The 160 man strong Sierra Leone Peace Keeping unit assigned to UNAMID lost four soldierson sunday to a bomb explosion. The men were assigned to UNAMID Deputy Joint Special Representive, Mohamed Yunis to escort him from Nyala International Airport to a Sector south of Nyala and the Kalma IDP camp.
This unit has been in Darfur since December 2009, and will be “Relieved in Place” by a second batch of troops at the end of this month.
