The Rumor Mills: Sierra Leone’s President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah is Dead

In the past couple days, rumors have been crossing the channels hinting that the President of Sierra Leone Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabbah had died of complications in the UK. Sierra Leoneans everywhere will be happy to know that this is indeed a rumor and that president Kabbah is alive and in good health.

A government employee at the ministry of foreign affairs confirmed that rumors started flying after a man by the name of “Alhaji Kabbah” was announced dead in the UK. Some who heard the announcement distastefully misunderstood it to mean that it was the president of SL who had died.
