Sierra Leone remembers John Akar

The John Akar Foundation in Sierra Leone hosted a poetry/exhibition event on independence day to celebrate Sierra Leone and remember the late John Akar who wrote the country’s National Anthem.

Vendors and businesses from all works of life came to exhibit their goods. There was also poetry recitations, musical performances, games and other fun activities.

But the most important aspect of it all was that everything that was exhibited, recited, performed or eaten was 100% Sierra Leonean as the foundation wanted to celebrate Sierra Leone with Sierra Leone by Sierra Leone.
