Akwasi Frimpong, Ghana’s first skeleton athlete just picked up sponsorship from Cocoa from Ghana for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
“SKELETON RACING INVOLVES PLUMMETING HEAD-FIRST DOWN A STEEP AND TREACHEROUS ICE TRACK ON A TINY SLED. IT IS CONSIDERED THE WORLD’S FIRST SLIDING SPORT.”
The Games will be held in PyeongChang, South Korea. They start on 9th Feburay 2018 and end on the 25th February 2018.
Frimpong was born on February 11, 1986 in Ghana. He is a naturalized Dutch citizen. He is a sprinter, bobsledder, and skeleton athlete.
He has won 4 bronze, 4 silver, and 8 gold medals in various national and international sport events. He is will be the first Ghanaian skeleton athlete to participate in the Winter Olympic Games.
