Sierra Leone: Kandeh Yumkella resigns from UN to return home

Kandeh Yumkella, who will be vying for the leadership of the Sierra Leone’s People Party to stand in the next presidential elections has announced his resignation from the United Nations.
Yumkella had been with the UN for two decades. He served as the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) from 2005 to 2013. Before his just announced resignation he was Co-Chair of the Secretary-General’s High-level Group on Sustainable Energy for All.
