Tomorrow 50 year old Macky Sall will start his new job as President elect of Senegal. Earlier this month Sall won 65 percent of votes against incumbent Abdoulaye Wade. Sall served as prime minister under President Wade from 2004-2007 and ran Wade’s re-election campaign in 2007. A geological engineer Sall has had a long political career ranging from Mayor to President of Senegal’s national assembly. He will be up for re-election in 2017. Meanwhile the outgoing President Wade becomes member of the opposition and continues as leader of the Senegalese Democratic Party.
