Inside Crown Xpress

With a minimalist modern interior reminiscent of the branch in town, the brothers Kesserwani are offering up good eats done fast. The menu has your usual coffee drinks, pastas, salads, sandwiches, and the Crown staple fried chicken. While my heart was set on the chicken pesto pasta, i ended up with the tomato and mozzarella salad, a macchiato, and fruit salad while my dining companion ordered a beef shawarma with coleslaw and french fries. If you’ve not yet had an opportunity to visit Freetown’s newest eatery then look no further. Crown Xpress the younger brother of Crown Bakery on Wilberforce street officially opened its doors earlier this month and while the evil Chinese Wilkinson road builders did their best to keep us away I was able to stop by today.

The food was served in 20minutes which for Sierra Leone is probably as fast food as you can get. I really enjoyed my salad, clean and well seasoned. The toilet facilities get 5 stars too 🙂 Prices are standard what you’d expect in Freetown these days b/n Le. 40,000-60,000 ($10-$15).

I’ll definitely be heading back to Crown Xpress soon to dig in to the Chicken Pesto. If they put in wifi any time in the future it will definitely become like a local starbucks.

Been to Crown Xpress lately? How was it for you!
