Marie Mansaray is the current Miss Sierra Leone USA 2010-2011. She was born and raised in Northern Virginia to Sierra Leonean parents from the Temne and Mende ethnic groups. She is currently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in Exercise Science with a concentration in Physical Therapy.
She was crowned Miss Sierra Leone-USA 2010 on September 25th 2010 at the Montgomery College of Performing Arts Center in Silver Spring, MD. Since then she has been working on a campaign named “Yehri Wi Cry (YWC)” (Hear Our Cry) to raise awareness on issues relating to maternal and infant mortality in Sierra Leone.
Marie hopes to represent Sierra Leone positively as a reflection of proud people and heritage. She wants to be a role model for young girls and women.
Marie Mansaray, Miss Sierra Leone USA 2010-2011 will be returning home in April to participate in the 50th Anniversary Independence Celebrations and intends to represent Sierra Leone in upcoming Miss Africa USA 2011 pageant in July!
